Jewell's side are currently 13th in the Championship table
Derby manager Paul Jewell is looking to the loan market to boost his squad after the Championship side reached the Carling Cup quarter-finals.
The Rams beat Leeds 2-1 at home to make it into the last eight on Tuesday but Jewell said the amount of matches his side have played is taking its toll.
He told BBC Radio Derby: "I think we need two or three players to try and help the squad along.
"We've made good progress but we just look a bit jaded at the moment."
"I think that's our eighth game in 25 days. We've had a few injuries, Rob Hulse is playing with one. We've tried to get people on loan but it's proving very difficult."
Derby take on Sheffield Wednesday at home on Saturday.
