Dean Leacock had been linked with a move to Burnley
Derby defender Dean Leacock has signed a new contract that will keep him at the club until the summer of 2012.
The 24-year-old's previous deal was due to expire at the end of the current campaign but he has now been rewarded for his recent fine form.
Leacock, a £375,000 signing from Fulham in August 2006, said: "I always wanted to stay. I'm settled at the club."
Boss Paul Jewell said: "Dean deserves credit. He's knuckled down and that's why he has been given a new contract."
Jewell added: "Dean is pleased, we are pleased, and I have been very impressed with his attitude and desire to stay at Derby County, which also speaks volumes for the club."
