Pearson has dismissed speculation in the press over Jewell's future
Derby County chairman of football Adam Pearson has dismissed reports that Paul Jewell will be sacked if the Rams fail to win against Barnsley on Saturday.
Derby have yet to win in the league under Jewell and newspaper reports had suggested his job was under threat.
"In my view, that's inaccurate - I don't know where that's come from," Pearson told BBC Radio Derby.
"I don't know a chairman in the world who puts a number of games on it - it's something made up in the press."
