Wright admits it may be too late for City to arrange another game
Derby County have arranged a friendly at Mansfield Town on 26 July after cancelling their game against Lincoln.
The Championship side pulled out after the clubs were drawn against each other in the first round of the Carling cup.
Imps chairman Steff Wright told BBC Radio Lincolnshire: "Once the names came out of the hat it was in jeopardy.
"We're talking to one or two clubs but it's getting very late in the day now. I'd say it's unlikely that we'll be able to organise another friendly."
But Wright insisted that losing the match would not hurt the Imps financially.
"It's swings and roundabouts," he said.
"You could say Derby County in the first round of the cup was a good draw for us, but equally it's cost us a pre-season friendly so the two probably balance themselves out."
