Derby boss Paul Jewell has finally completed the signing of keeper Roy Carroll from Scottish club Rangers.
The former Manchester United keeper has played just once for Rangers
Carroll has joined until the end of the season in a move which was held up as Rangers tried to capture a replacement.
Rangers landed Neil Alexander from Ipswich to pave the way for Northern Ireland international Carroll, 30, to switch to Pride Park.
"It has been a protracted deal but I believe it will be worth the wait," Jewell told the club's website.
"Roy is a great pro and he will come straight into contention for Saturday's game at Birmingham."
Meanwhile, Rams goalkeeper Stephen Bywater has been linked with a move to Ipswich Town.
