Goalkeeper Lee Grant will hope to push for a first-team place after completing 90 minutes for Derby's reserves.
Grant had been out after suffering a foot injury in training
Grant, 22, had been sidelined since last month with a foot injury, but played as the Rams' second string lost 5-1 to Crewe behind closed doors.
"We've had a hard game," assistant boss Dean Holdsworth, who also played in the match, told Derby's website.
"The manager will have a look and see who's fit, and we'll train over the next few days to get ready for Stoke."
Grant was on the bench for the Rams' last game, against Leicester, after goalkeeping coach Kevin Poole was named in goal ahead of regular number one Lee Camp.
Camp's father has since apologised for criticism he made of the club's coaching on BBC Radio Derby.
