West Brom striker Danny Dichio has joined Derby on loan and goes straight into the Rams squad for Saturday's trip to Crewe.
Dichio is without a goal this season
Rams boss George Burley had approached the Baggies after being hit by a striker crisis and 6ft 3in targetman Dichio has linked up with the Rams for an initial month.
Burley is without Brazilian frontman Junior due to knee ligament damage while Mathias Svensson, on loan from Charlton, is sidelined by an ankle injury.
Third-choice frontman Izale McLeod is ruled out while recovering from knee cartilage surgery and Lee Morris is struggling with back and hamstring injuries.
Baggies boss Gary Megson said: "We can't guarantee Danny a place in the starting line-up at the moment and he needs games.
"He's going to go to Derby for a month and we'll see what happens after that.
"We've got Rob Hulse and Scott Dobie doing well at the moment with Lee Hughes pushing them so we think this is a move which suits all parties."
Dichio has made nine first-team appearances for Albion so far this season but has yet to find the back of the net.
