Robinson offered Darlington trial

Darlington have offered former striker Paul Robinson a trial at the Arena.

The 29-year-old has been without a professional deal since leaving Torquay United in 2006 and has since been playing in the Northern League.

Robinson's career highlight came with a £250,000 switch to Newcastle in March 1998, which was followed by a £1.5m move to Wimbledon in July 2000.

Manager Dave Penney has sought depth in striking areas since releasing Julian Joachim and Guy Nsumbu-Ndungu in May.

Meanwhile, speculation surrounds striker Tommy Wright and a move to Scottish Premier League side Aberdeen.

It has been reported that a bid in the region of £100,000 has been lodged for the 23-year-old Leicester-born forward.
