Crystal Palace have signed Hull City defender Anthony Gardner on a loan deal until 3 January.

Gardner, 29, arrived at Hull for £2.5m from Tottenham Hotspur in 2008 and has made 32 league starts for the Tigers.

The centre-half, who has played as both striker and winger, began his career at Port Vale, making his debut against Sheffield United in 1998.

He moved to White Hart Lane in 2000 where he made 141 appearances before signing for Hull for £1m.

The defender, who suffered a series of injuries during his time at Spurs, also spent a four month spell on loan at Everton in 2008.
