Crystal Palace manager Neil Warnock has pledged his support to the Rob Hughes charity match at Bromley FC on Sunday.
The match, against a Legends XI, aims to help raise money for Hughes who was assaulted during a holiday in Crete leaving the 28-year-old in a coma.
Hughes was initially given 48 hours to live but after four operations is now in a stable condition.
Warnock was initially asked to play in the match, but due to a hip problem will referee instead.
Other well-known Londoners expected to take part are Charlton manager Alan Pardew, Surrey cricket captain Mark Butcher, former England and Surrey wicketkeeper Alec Stewart and former Crystal Palace manager Peter Taylor.
The match kicks off at 1400 BST and will be followed by a football memorabilia auction in the club bar after the game.
