Crystal Palace have completed the signing of Benfica defender Jose Fonte on a three-year contract for an undisclosed fee.
Fonte had joined the Selhurst Park club last July on loan for a year, with a view to a permanent move.
The 24-year-old, who came through the ranks at Vitoria Setubal before joining Benfica, played 26 games for Neil Warnock's side last term.
Palace have also signed striker Simon Thomas from non-league Boreham Wood.
Thomas has signed a two-year contract with the Eagles after the two clubs agreed an undisclosed fee.
Thomas, who scored 33 goals in 71 appearances for the Ryman Premier Division side, has now joined up with the rest of the Palace squad for their pre-season tour in Cornwall.
