Crystal Palace have signed Hull defender Leon Cort on a three-year contract in a £1m plus deal.
Hull had rejected a £750,000 offer from former boss Peter Taylor to capture Cort earlier this week.
The defender, who comes from south London, began his career with Dulwich Hamlet before moving to Millwall in 2001, and then on to Southend.
Cort said: "It's a big move for me because I was settled at Hull but I'm delighted to come down to my family."
Taylor signed Cort, 26, on a free transfer in 2004, and has now returned with an offer to bring him back to the capital as a replacement for Fitz Hall.
