Palace sign Adebola
Dele Adebola in action for Birmingham
Adebola was released by Birmingham
Crystal Palace have signed striker Dele Adebola on a one-year contract, subject to passing a medical.

The former Birmingham forward earned the deal after impressing manager Trevor Francis during a trial period at the club.

Negotiations had initially stalled after Francis claimed Adebola's wage demands were too high.

But chairman Simon Jordan has said a deal has now been reached.

"The deal has been concluded and he is having a medical. It is a one-year contract and we are pleased to have him," said Jordan.

Adebola, who should be available to play against Portsmouth on Saturday, has been signed to ease the club's problems up front.

Clinton Morrison was recently sold to Birmingham and Ade Akinbiyi is out until November with a knee injury.

Meanwhile, the club are reportedly in talks in former Leicester midfielder Dennis Wise.

Wise was sacked by Leicester after an incident during the club's pre-season tour of Scandinavia which resulted in Callum Davidson sustaining a fractured cheekbone.
