Spurs call back goalkeeper Button

Tottenham Hotspur have recalled young goalkeeper David Button from his loan spell with Crewe Alexandra for the second time this season.

The 20-year-old, who made 10 starts for the Alex, has returned to White Hart Lane as cover for Heurelho Gomes.

Crewe caretaker manager Dario Gradi told BBC Radio Stoke he does not expect to see Button back at the club.

"I don't want a situation where the man we're relying on in goal can be recalled at a moment's notice."

Gradi continued: "They've offered him back to us but we're looking elsewhere. I would much rather put one of our goalkeepers in."

Meanwhile, French goalkeeper Bertrand Bossu has agreed to sign the two-month contract that was offered to him following a successful trial.

However, a failure to secure international clearance may prevent the 29-year-old from making his Crewe debut against Cheltenham on Saturday.

Steve Collis will battle with Adam Legzdins for the number one jersey ahead of the trip to Whaddon Road.
