Crewe's Worley out for six weeks

Crewe Alexandra defender Harry Worley faces up to six weeks out of action after suffering an ankle injury.

The 20-year-old, who is on a season-long loan from Championship side Leicester City, has made 11 appearances for the Alex this term.

"He landed on John Brayford's foot in training, and his ankle went up like a balloon," caretaker manager Dario Gradi told BBC Radio Stoke.

"I don't expect to see him back for around six weeks."

Crewe have also lost the services of goalkeeper Adam Bogdan, who has been recalled from his loan spell by Bolton Wanderers after just one match.

Meanwhile, Gradi is convinced that strikers Calvin Zola and Shaun Miller have the potential to play at a higher level.

Zola is Crewe's top scorer with eight goals this season, while 22-year-old Miller has scored nine times in 34 appearances for the club.

"Both players should score more goals and if they start to convert the chances they could go onto become big money sales," added Gradi.

Miller was largely ignored under former boss Gudjon Thordarson, scoring once in just three starts under the Icelander this season, but Gradi says he has a key role to play.

"At the start of the season I couldn't see where the goals where coming from.

"I told Gudjon that Shaun was the only proven goalscorer he had, but he wasn't played often enough, or in his best position.

"Calvin just has to stay fit to play the games he is very receptive to the work, and has all the makings to be a good player."
