Walton finding his feet at Crewe

Crewe Alexandra loanee Simon Walton is confident that an extended run of first-team games will see him approach something near his best form.

Walton, 22, has made four appearances, three of them starts, since joining the Alex from Plymouth Argyle.

"I've been doing some extra training with the coach and that's helped me," he told BBC Radio Stoke.

"I'm definitely feeling stronger with every game, and at the weekend against Aldershot I felt pretty good."

Walton joined the club on 31 August and made his debut from the bench in the defeat by Stockport in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy.

The former Leeds trainee is now with his ninth professional club and he thinks Crewe is the perfect place to get his career back on track.

"I've got no regrets about coming. Everyone's been brilliant with me and it's nice to be playing with a smile on my face again," he said.

"The performances from the team haven't been too bad, but football's a results business, and we've had enough chances and possession to win 10 games."

Crewe are back in action on Friday when they take on Accrington at the Crown Ground.
