I can improve results - Holland

Crewe Alexandra first-team coach Steve Holland believes he is the man to lead them out of relegation trouble.

The Railwaymen are second-bottom in League One having not won in nine games and some sections of the club's fans have called for Holland to resign.

He told BBC Radio Stoke: "I do believe that we can get out of trouble, I wouldn't say so if I didn't mean it.

"It's only November so time is on our side, but we do need to pick up points and show that we can move forwards."

The Alex have failed to win 13 of their 15 league games this season, conceding 35 goals along the way, but Holland says it is their ability to score goals that will see them move away from danger.

"We're capable of scoring, which is always helpful," said Holland.

"The players are working hard, their spirit is good. I don't think we're being outplayed or that luck has been on our side - the bad results are down to detail rather than performances."

Holland also confirmed that efforts to strengthen his squad are on-going.

"If we are able to make additions then it will be a big help," said Holland.

"We are working very hard off the pitch and hopefully we'll have something to show for that by the end of the week."
