Livermore to miss start of season

Crewe's on-loan midfielder Jake Livermore will be out for three months after fracturing his fibia in Tuesday's friendly with Wrexham.

Livermore limped out of the 0-0 draw at the Racecourse after being felled by a heavy challenge from Kyle Critchell.

The 18-year-old has now returned to his parent club, Tottenham Hotspur.

Meanwhile it is unlikely former Mansfield Town captain Jake Buxton, who has been on trial with the Alex, will be offered a long-term deal.
