Crewe's Wales winger David Vaughan is set to join Real Sociedad for £300,000, subject to his passing a medical and gaining international clearance.
Vaughan will link up with former Fulham boss Chris Coleman
The 24-year-old flew out to the Basque country at the weekend to discuss personal terms with Real's former Fulham boss, Chris Coleman.
Crewe had accepted the Spanish club's bid for Vaughan last week.
He then played the full 90 minutes of his country's 1-0 win in Bulgaria on Wednesday evening.
"David would have been a free agent next summer," Crewe technical director Dario Gradi told BBC Radio Stoke when the bid was accepted.
"With him indicating he would like to pursue his career elsewhere, we feel this is a good deal for the club."
