Crewe bring in Burton
Crewe Alexandra boss Dario Gradi has offered a short-term contract to Sagi Burton in an attempt to ease his defensive problems at Gresty Road.

Crewe have lost record-buy Dave Walton for the first few weeks of the season because of a knee injury.

Gradi brought Burton in to join pre-season training and has now offered the former Port Vale and Colchester centre-back a deal.

"We have offered Sagi a short-term deal because he is a luxury we can't really afford," Gradi told the club's website.

"But I would like him to stay while Dave Walton is out injured.

"We will put him on the pay-roll and then it's up to him to push his way into the team. If he can do that we will sit down and discuss it again."
