Crawley Town loanee Michael Doughty has set his sights on earning a regular place in the starting line-up.

The midfielder has only started one game for the Red Devils since joining on a six-month deal from QPR in August.

Doughty, 18, told BBC Sussex: "I'm really enjoying my time here at Crawley and hopefully now I can nail down a first-team place.

"I'm looking to use this experience as a springboard to play in the Premier League. That's my ideal ambition."

Doughty came off the bench for the 10th time during his loan spell on Saturday and scored as Crawley overcame Bury to book their place in the second round of the FA Cup.

He added: "It was a hard-working performance and I was glad I could contribute.

"I was pleased to get on the pitch because I haven't featured that much in the last few games. My preferred position is in behind the strikers and hopefully I showed everyone what I can do.

"Right now I'm concentrating on doing my best for the club."
