Salisbury City's Chris Flood joins Crawley Town

Crawley Town

Crawley Town have signed Salisbury City winger Chris Flood for £10,000 on a two-year deal.

Flood, 21, made more than 50 appearances for Salisbury, scoring nine goals in his spell at the club.

Crawley Town assistant manager Paul Raynor told BBC Sussex: "He has pace, a goal threat and can play on both sides.

"He's a good, young, hungry player who had a good season with Salisbury last year and he'll add a good deal of pace to our side."

He added: "We need youngsters who are hungry for success and Chris certainly fits the bill."

Flood is Crawley's second signing of the summer from Salisbury following the capture of striker Matt Tubbs.

"Matt spoke very highly of him and said he was a good foil for him in their team. We're delighted to do the deal," said Raynor.

Salisbury's joint-caretaker boss Darrell Clarke said: "Chris is a good lad. Although we're sorry to see him go, we all wish him all the best at his new club.

"He's worked ever so hard in training during pre-season and looks in terrific shape."

Clarke added that the Whites are on hoping to confirm several new arrivals shortly.

"We have a lot of players wanting to come to us, and we're close to boosting the squad by bringing in a couple of new faces," he said.
