Crawley Town boss Steve Evans has predicted a play-off challenge for the Reds next season.

Evans won the Conference with Boston United in 2002, and joined Crawley last summer following the club's escape from relegation on the final day.

He told BBC Southern Counties Radio: "I can tell the Crawley fans now. Get the kettle on. Next season, we're going to be in there.

"I know it could be a big statement, but I believe it."

Evans feels the club, that nearly folded in the past two seasons, need a period of stability.

"Providing nothing changes behind the scenes like someone takes away the budget, and we keep the bulk of the players we have now, we will challenge."
