Cowdenbeath manager Brian Welsh has made veteran midfielder John O'Neil his second signing of the week.
John O'Neil won his only international cap against Poland
The 36-year-old, who was capped for Scotland in 2001, had been a target of the Fife club since being released by Gretna at the end of the season.
O'Neil began his career at Dundee Utd but came to prominence at St Johnstone and a move to Hibernian saw him gain international recognition.
The left-footed player then had a spell at Falkirk before moving to Gretna.
Welsh expressed his delight at the signing, which follows the capture of striker Stephen McConalogue earlier in the week.
"John was one of my main targets at the start of May and I am delighted that all our efforts to attract him to Central Park have proved fruitful," he told the club's website.
"This is a major signing for the club and reflects the ambitions we have.
"Make no mistake, John had serious offers form elsewhere, but he wanted to be part of what we are trying to achieve at Central Park.
"I know John well from our time at Dundee United and he is a top-quality player.
"His quality and experience will be vital for the coming season."
