Konstantopoulos eyes extended run

Coventry keeper Dimi Konstantopoulos says he has done all he can to earn an extended run in the side after impressing against West Brom.

The Greek shot-stopper was called into action after 10 minutes of the goalless draw after first choice Kieren Westwood was forced off because of injury.

Konstantopoulos said boss Chris Coleman must decide whether he keeps his place.

He told BBC Coventry & Warwickshire: "It's up to the gaffer. All I could do is just come on and hope to do a job."

Konstantopoulos had featured in just one other game this season, the Carling Cup defeat by his former employers Hartlepool United, and has found his opportunities at the Ricoh Arena limited since Westwood's arrival over a year ago.

"When you don't play first team games you need to play some reserve team games and we're not in a reserve league at the minute," added Konstantopoulos.

"It's a bit difficult because as a goalkeeper, no matter how much you train, you need games and minutes on the pitch."

Next up for the Sky Blues is a home game against Reading on Saturday, 31 October. There will be full match coverage on BBC Coventry & Warwickshire from 1400 GMT.
