De la Cruz handed Coventry trial

De la Cruz made 15 top-flight appearances for Reading

Coventry have have taken former Aston Villa and Reading defender Ulises de la Cruz on trial.

The Ecuadorian, who has played 84 times for his country, has been invited to train with the Sky Blues as they seek a solution to their right-back problems.

Manager Chris Coleman has been using midfielder Aron Gunnarsson in the position because Stephen Wright is currently out injured.

De la Cruz, 34, is a free agent having been released by Reading in the summer.

He had a trial at Watford in July.
