Coventry City have signed Carlisle United goalkeeper Keiren Westwood on a three-year deal for an initial fee of £500,000, which could rise to £750,000.
The 23-year-old was voted United's player of the year and named in the League One team of the season, before winning a Republic of Ireland call-up.
Boss Chris Coleman told City's website: "He is ready to take a step up.
"He is an excellent young keeper who has all the credentials to be a huge success here."
Carlisle boss John Ward told his club's website: "I think it was inevitable that he was going to go higher because everyone recognises the talent that he has.
"I am delighted for him on a personal level, because he has worked extremely hard."
