Defender Turner may be rested

Coventry City manager Iain Dowie is considering resting young defender Ben Turner for Saturday's Burnley game.

It was the youngster's mistake which gifted Leicester City their second goal in last weekend's 2-0 defeat for the Sky Blues at the Walkers Stadium.

And, after 22 consecutive matches, boss Iain Dowie may opt to leave Turner out.

Dowie told BBC Coventry & Warwickshire: "He'll look back on it, maybe in ten years' time, and be able to smile about that".

It is still unclear whether Dowie will leave Turner out of the starting eleven but the Coventry boss insists the defender is not being dropped.

"He's had a fundamental year," said Dowie. "He's had a really good season so far. He's certainly done terrific and he does add a bit of pace to our backline".

Coventry are hoping to get their first three points of 2008 against a Burnley side who have won just once in eight games at the Ricoh Arena since their last trip to the West Midlands brought a 3-2 win at Molineux in early December.
