Page completes switch to Coventry
Robert Page
Page wants a return to first-team football
Coventry have completed the signing of defender Robert Page from Cardiff.

The 30-year-old Wales centre-half passed a medical and moves to Highfield Road on a free transfer.

Cardiff boss Lennie Lawrence said: "I didn't want to see Rob go and he didn't really want to leave so it is sad that it has come to this.

"But we both know he needs to play and the prospects of him playing are not great because of the form of James Collins and Danny Gabbidon."

Page only joined the Bluebirds from Sheffield United in the summer but has struggled with injuries and has failed to command a regular first-team spot.

And Lawrence added: "He hasn't really had a chance to stake a claim here so I reluctantly agreed to let him go."

Page admitted: "Because of injury and the exceptional form of James and Danny, it's been a frustrating time for me at Cardiff."

Cardiff and Coventry have a gentleman's agreement that Page will not play when the sides meet at Highfield Road on 12 March.
