Midfielder Tim Sherwood has signed a two-year deal with Championship side Coventry City.
The 35-year-old former Tottenham and Blackburn star was released by Portsmouth at the end of last season.
He is manager Peter Reid's fourth signing of the summer, following the arrivals of Bjarni Gudjonsson, Stephen Hughes and Neil Wood.
"This is a great opportunity for me to come back and show people what I am capable of," Sherwood said.
"Peter Reid has sold the club to me and I am well aware of the ambition of everybody connected with Coventry City.
"I've won promotion with Blackburn and Portsmouth and I'd desperately like to achieve the same with Coventry."
Sherwood's 2003-04 campaign effectively ended last December when he suffered a double leg break while on duty with Pompey.
