Coventry reject Hughes loan
Lee Hughes of Coventry
Lee Hughes has scored 12 goals for Coventry this season
Coventry have rejected an approach from West Bromwich Albion to take striker Lee Hughes on loan.

Hughes joined Coventry from West Brom for 5m last August and has since scored 12 goals.

West Brom's request follows the loss of Jason Roberts for the rest of the season with a foot injury.

"Albion chairman Paul Thompson contacted me today and enquired as to the availability of Lee Hughes," Coventry City chairman Mike McGinnity told the club website.

"I told him there is no way that we would consider loaning one of our players - especially to a promotion rival."
