Hartson staying at Coventry
John Hartson
Hartson is willing to help Coventry back into the top-flight
Coventry City have moved to end the speculation over John Hartson's future by confirming that he is staying with the club.

Hartson has been linked with Leicester and former club West Ham.

But the Highfield Road outfit say that the Welshman has pledged to stay and help the club regain their place in the Premiership.

He was obviously worried about not playing in the Premiership and we persuaded him that it would only be for a short time
  Coventry boss Gordon Strachan

"We are absolutely delighted that John is staying on," said Sky Blues boss Gordon Strachan on the club's official website.

"All the staff at the club are delighted, the coaches are delighted, the players are delighted - and I am sure that the fans will be delighted.

"It just goes to show that good things come to those who wait. We were patient and took our time when John made his initial announcement.

"We didn't panic and we talked to John and he did a lot of thinking.

"He was obviously worried about not playing in the Premiership and we persuaded him that it would only be for a short time."
