Colchester chief executive leaves

Colchester United

Colchester United have announced the departure of chief executive Marie Partner after 21 years at the club.

She joined the U's in 1987, working her way up from the ticket office to become one of football's only female chief executive officers.

During that time Partner has worked with five chairmen and 18 managers and played a big part in moving them to their new stadium.

She said: "I've enjoyed it here but it's time to seek new challenges."
