Lisbie has the chance to move back up to the Championship
Colchester United are trying to stave off interest from Ipswich for Kevin Lisbie by offering him a new contract.
The striker still has two years to run on his deal but Ipswich are believed to have had a bid in excess of £500,000 accepted, due to a contract clause.
But Colchester, who were relegated to League One, are keen to keep the 29-year-old former Charlton man who was top scorer last season with 17 goals.
BBC Essex understands he has been offered a new deal with improved terms.
