Celtic defender Adam Virgo has joined Colchester on a six-month loan deal.
Virgo has been unable to establish himself at Celtic
The 24-year-old moves to the English Championship club following an injury-plagued spell at Celtic.
Virgo signed for the SPL club for £1.5m from Brighton in July, 2005 but failed to establish himself in Gordon Strachan's side.
The player, whose season-long loan deal at Coventry last year was curtailed by injury, had been a transfer target of Motherwell boss Mark McGhee.
McGhee managed Virgo at Brighton and was keen to take the player to Fir Park.
But the player has opted to move to the Championship outfit in an effort to kick-start his career.
In a statement on Celtic's website, a spokesperson said: "Everyone at Celtic wishes Adam good luck during his spell at Colchester."
