Chesterfield have signed Stoke striker Adam Rooney on a four-month loan deal.
Rooney and Santos have both moved to Saltergate
The 19-year-old Irish forward signed for the Potters in the summer of 2005 but has struggled to force his way into the first team this season.
Also moving to Saltergate is experienced French defender Georges Santos, who has joined for a month on non-contract terms.
Santos, 37, spent last season with Brighton and had a loan spell at Oxford before being released in the summer.
He had been training with the Spireites for the last fortnight.
Stoke coach Mark O'Connor told the Potters' website: "Adam went on loan to Yeovil last season, unfortunately it didn't turn out to be the best experience.
"Now Chesterfield have come in for him and we feel it will be a good move."
