Chesterfield are giving a trial to experienced former Sheffield United striker Carl Asaba.
The 33-year-old left Millwall in the summer after he was released.
Earlier this season, Asaba joined Leicester on non-contract terms before leaving last month without playing a game for Rob Kelly's side.
Chesterfield manager Roy McFarland: "It's a good chance for us to take a closer look at him because we know he has a lot of experience to offer."
Asaba has scored 106 League goals in a 12-year professional career that has seen him play for seven clubs.
