Chesterfield's Shane Nicholson has left hospital after undergoing emergency treatment to an infection in his leg following a cartilage operation.
Nicholson has already been sidelined for over two months
The Spireites skipper suffered the infection following keyhole surgery, but will receive daily nursing treatment until the problem clears up.
Chesterfield boss Roy McFarland said: "There's some way to go to ensure it (the infection) has fully cleared up.
"This setback means he will be hard pressed to get back this season."
