Spireites to field students
Saltergate will also host Sheff Utd's reserves next season
Chesterfield may join forces with Loughborough University to continue to operate a reserve side next season.
The Spireites had planned to axe their reserve team after taking the decision to stream-line their squad. However, they have now re-applied to join the Avon Insurance League and could take the place vacated by Grimsby Town. Use of Loughborough University top-of-the-range sports facilities may be part of any potential deal for the cash-strapped club. Chesterfield have already agreed to let Sheffield United play their reserve home games at Saltergate next season. |
