Chester name Anderson as chairman

Chester City

Blue Square Premier side Chester City have appointed Ian Anderson as chairman and re-signed their former striker Mark Beesley from Cambridge on loan.

Anderson has been on the board of directors for the past two years, but owner Stephen Vaughan will not take a position on the new City board.

Cambridge United striker Beesley, 28, played for Chester between 2000 and 2003, scoring 36 goals in 110 games.

Beesley, who has signed on a month's loan, has scored two goals this season.

Of his appointment as chairman, Anderson told BBC Radio Merseyside: "I am relishing the chance of getting more involved on a day-to-day basis.

"I am looking forward to working with Jim Harvey and Tim Ryan and now we want to take the club forward and create stability at the Deva Stadium."
