Chester City boss Mark Wright has identified Leyton Orient's Lee Steele and Callum Willock of Brentford as potential striking targets.
Wright hopes Willock or Steele can boost his forward line
Wright is hopeful of pursuing a deal with at least one of the players in the next few days as he looks to increase his side's goal output.
Steele, 32, has been at Orient since May 2004, following earlier spells with Shrewsbury, Brighton and Oxford.
Ex-Fulham man Willock, 24, previously played under Wright at Peterborough.
He moved to Brentford in January, and has scored three times in 25 appearances for the Bees - which have mostly come from the substitutes' bench.
Steele helped the O's to promotion from League Two last season, and has already found the net four times this season.
