Allen has made only three signings for Cheltenham this summer
Cheltenham manager Martin Allen will assess the merits of two trialists in Tuesday's friendly with Southampton.
Striker Tom Denton is currently at Huddersfield and midfielder Michael Pook has been released by Swindon.
Allen told BBC Gloucestershire: "Tom is a big lad at 6ft 5in. We'll see how he does and then talk with Huddersfield about a possible loan until Christmas.
"Michael is a good player and lives locally. Whether we can afford him or not is the big question."
Allen also confirmed that midfielder Ben Smith - who is a free agent after his release from Hereford - is not going to sign for the club.
"We've had a chat and Ben will now seek his future elsewhere."
