Grant confident Lampard will stay
Frank Lampard
Lampard's current deal expires this summer
Chelsea manager Avram Grant is convinced Frank Lampard will agree a new contract at the end of the season.

Midfielder Lampard, 29, took his tally of Chelsea goals to 101 with a double in Saturday's 3-1 FA Cup fifth round victory over Huddersfield Town.

His existing deal runs out this summer but Grant said: "I want him at the club and I think he'll stay.

"I don't see any other scenario. Frank deserves to score 100 goals. Maybe he will score 200."

Lampard is only the eighth player to score 100 goals for the club and Grant is well aware of his value.

"I don't think there are many midfield players who score so many goals but what's important is he not only knows how to score goals, he knows how to give assists," he said.

"He's good at defending and he is a very good player."
