Andriy Shevchenko's agent has told Chelsea that they cannot afford to buy AC Milan's newly-elected European Footballer of the Year.
The Ukranian is again being linked with a move to Stamford Bridge, with manager Jose Mourinho a confirmed admirer.
But agent Oscar Damiano said: "They may be interested but there is no chance, even if they make a ridiculous offer.
"They would have no chance on personal terms alone. He is one of the world's five best players and is paid as such."
Shevchenko was the first foreigner to top the scoring charts in a debut season in Italy with 24 goals in 32 matches.
And last season he was again top scorer in Serie A with 24 goals.
He edged out Barcelona's Deco and Ronaldinho, as well as Arsenal's Thierry Henry, to win the European Football of the Year accolade.
