Chelsea have finalised PSV Eindhoven striker Mateja Kezman's move to Stamford Bridge after the Serbian was granted a work permit.

Chelsea have agreed an undisclosed fee with PSV for the 25-year-old forward.

New Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is happy to have got Kezman, saying: "I like him because he is a team player.

"He has the motivation to come to the top league in the world and that, along with his scoring record, makes him a good player for me."

Kezman will face tough competition for his place in Mourinho's starting line-up at Stamford Bridge but he is not deterred by the challenge.

"I'm very glad that I'm here," Kezman told Chelsea's website.

"It's a fantastic club with a great history and has a good team."

The former FK Loznica, Sartid 1913 Smederevo and Partizan Belgrade forward scored 105 goals in 122 games over four seasons at PSV.

In the 2002-03 season, Kezman scored 35 goals in 33 games which was the highest total in Holland since Marco van Basten's 37 for Ajax in 1987.

"I've got the best record in the history of PSV," he said.

"I just need some time and the supporters need to be patient but I'm sure it will be okay."
