Chelsea will reportedly renew their interest in signing Juventus midfielder Edgar Davids when he becomes a free agent at the end of the season.
The 30-year-old Dutch international has held fresh talks with the Italian champions but has failed to agree a new contract which would keep him in Turin.
"At the end of the season he will be free from any contractual obligations," said Juventus director Luciano Moggi.
"He will be free to choose his own destination. Will we try to keep him? I don't think so."
Chelsea launched a £10m bid to bring Davids to Stamford Bridge following the arrival of billionaire owner Roman Abramovich last summer.
But that offer was dismissed by Juventus, who now face losing one of their biggest assets for free.
Dundee have also been recently been linked with a move for to bring Davids to Dens Park next year.
The club's ambitious financier Giovanni di Stefano revealed the Scottish club will start negotiaions with Davids in January to try and thrash out a five-month loan deal worth £1.7m.
Stamford Bridge chiefs are also expected to hold talks with the influential midfielder in the new year.
