Hasselbaink in ban fear
Hasselbaink is alleged to have hit Udinese's Bertotto
Chelsea striker Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink could face a three-match ban following his dismissal in Saturday's friendly against Udinese.
Hasselbaink was sent off after allegedly punching Valerio Bertotto in the ill-tempered game. But the English Football Association must wait to hear from their Italian counterparts before any inquiry into the incident can be launched. "Any player dismissed in a friendly game overseas would have to be reported to us before anything can happen," said an FA spokesman. Since the game falls outside the English FA's jurisdiction, the sending off would need to be reported by the Italian governing body to their counterparts. And only then could the Dutch striker be hit with the corresponding disciplinary punishment.
