On-loan Charlton striker Nicky Forster has set his sights on finishing his career with 200 league goals.

Forster, 36, who moved to The Valley last month on loan from Brighton for the rest of the season, has scored 188 times including twice for the Addicks.

He told BBC Radio Kent: "I set myself targets. At the moment I'm in the 180s so I'm striving for 200.

"Retirement is not in my thoughts because all the time I remain fit and mobile I can do a job."

Forster was snapped up by Gillingham in 1992 from non-league Horley Town and went on to play for Brentford, Birmingham City, Reading, Ipswich, Hull City and Brighton.

He played under Charlton manager Phil Parkinson at Hull and the Addicks boss quickly snapped him up when Brighton made him available.

Forster added: "I've tried to be successful for every club that I've played for. My contract with Brighton is up at the end of the season when I'll consider my options.

"One thing's for sure, I want to carry on playing."
