Charlton boss Phil Parkinson refutes Chris Dickson move

Charlton boss Phil Parkinson has said striker Chris Dickson will not join Gillingham after welcoming him back from a loan spell at Bristol Rovers.

The 25-year-old was Gillingham's top-scorer two seasons ago while on loan, and manager Mark Stimson has made no secret of his desire to sign him.

But Parkinson told BBC Kent: "He's an improved player who can play a big part for us until the end of the season."

Dickson scored four times in 10 games during his three-month spell at Rovers.

Parkinson added: "We could have called him back at any time from his loan at Bristol Rovers but decided against it."

Charlton have also confirmed that striker Izale McLeod has joined Peterborough on loan until the end of the season, while Reading have allowed another striker, David Mooney, to remain on loan at The Valley until the season's end.
