Pardew open-minded about takeover

Charlton Athletic manager Alan Pardew has urged his players to keep an open mind about a possible takeover.

The Addicks boss told BBC London 94.9: "Some are quick takeovers, some take longer and some never happen at all so we have to keep an open mind.

"I'm trying to do that with the players but in general I think the mood is very very good."

Last week the club confirmed they have received an indicative cash offer from Zabeel Investments.

Pardew added: "Obviously the speculation about the club has been a buoyant factor.

"Just going by the training ground the mood has been terrific, everyone's tail is up and looking forward to Saturday."

Zabeel Investments have been looking for the opportunity to invest in an English football club and were recently linked with Newcastle United.

The board have advised shareholders to accept an offer if it is made formally.
